The constantly improving aspect of FIFA World is what makes it so interesting
EA Sports 'FIFA World' is really the next logical step in sports games, and I would be shocked if a similar platform doesn't roll out for NFL, NHL, MLB, and NBA in the near future. The game is fun, fast paced, addictive and best of all free. If you like soccer, especially international soccer you owe it to yourself to check out 'FIFA World.' In 'FIFA World,' you start out with a basic roster of players and as you play and win matches, progressively build your team. Anyone who has played the Ultimate Team mode in any previous 'FIFA' games will be instantly familiar and can jump right in. The setup is like a traditional football pyramid, you begin at the very bottom of division 10 and you play nine matches a season. If you can secure enough points, you might be promoted to the division above yours. If you fail to meet the minimum points you will be relegated down below.
While these ‘drawbacks’ are still currently within the beta, EA announced at Gamescom that the game will soon have a new, more advanced, engine. It’s likely that this will be the FIFA 14 Impact engine, thereby putting FIFA World only a year behind its older brother - but still with the improved accessibility in tow. This constantly improving aspect of FIFA World is what makes it so interesting. While the main series relies on yearly full-game updates to remain fresh and, lest we forget, to keep the cash rolling, this game will be updated on the fly with new team and player info as well as overall game improvements.
Although FIFA 14 is available on PC, EA Sports wants the annual football franchise in as many homes and offices as possible. Enter FIFA World, a free-to-play PC game that borrows popular features from last year’s smash hit. Here’s the best part. The FIFA World beta is ready for you to download and play. The EAS FC Social Hub lets you capture and share all sorts of incredible (or downright silly) moments on the field, then immediately upload these clips to the FIFA World in-game social feed.
Create squads featuring multiple generations as you keep your players while the game advances from season to season. New versions of players are released every year and depending on their performance their ratings may increase, decrease or stay the same. Leighton Baines from Season 2014 or Leighton Baines from Season 2015, you decide which one better fits your squad!
FIFA World is always getting better! You install the game once and then just download free updates. Major releases can contain new modes, new features and in Release 9.0, a whole new gameplay engine! How do we decide what to add? You tell us! Send us your feedback on Facebook, Twitter and the forum.
Elsewhere, the monetisation in League Teams mode is also quite generous. In League Teams you pick any real-world team or country (FIFA World has a similarly vast dragnet of licences to the main series) and earn points for wins or draws, aiming for targets that save you from relegation or get you promoted to a higher skill bracket. Playing a match spends a "match credit" and you have five of these to start with. In theory, when they run out you either have to wait a few hours to unlock another one for free or you need to spend money.
