FIFA World was Created by the award-winning development team at EA Canada, EA Sports FIFA World is designed to be easy to pick up and play for all fans. Featuring the award-winning EA Sports FIFA HD console gameplay, FIFA Ultimate Team, and a host of new features, the game delivers a fun and immersive football experience that is synonymous with the FIFA franchise.
FIFA World also plays a respectable game out on the pitch, although it does lag behind the most recent versions of FIFA in several key respects. Matches last around eight minutes and it's still a fast-paced game of zippy, inch-perfect passes that seesaws from end to end, taking in crunching tackles and an overabundance of simple one-two through-balls on the way, but it lacks FIFA 14's enhanced physicality and refinements to the controls. It isn't quite FIFA 13 either. I went back to that game on PlayStation 3 and was reminded of its huge emphasis on player pace, whereas FIFA World's crop of players feel a little more sluggish and lose the ball cheaply. Visually, too, it falls some way short of modern FIFA; perfectly acceptable to look at it but lacking any bells and whistles.
Quite middling fare really. The sound is definitely serviceable but nothing that will pop out at you aurally. The downgrade of the commentators track is quite a blow to the in-game ambiance but seeing as almost all of the teams are custom rosters, I understand the choice they made. A perpetual online soccer game world is a unique concept, and if you play it, it will hook you. The card system will rope you in with the old 'Magic the Gathering' trick of "opening just one more pack" and hoping for an awesome savior to bolster your squad. The price point is excellent, and the pay-to-win quotient is quite low(you can easily overcame a higher ranked team if you play the game with more skill) make it a perfect storm of rewarding both time spent and ability. I will be playing the game for a long time. Now if only I can get a better graphics card to see what it really looks like.
It's possible to capture and share still images from replays at the touch of a button. But you can also pay for match credits using the in-game coins you earn playing in Ultimate Team, something the game is always in a hurry to remind you. Not only that, but the lower divisions set very gentle points targets, and meeting any of them restores your five credits. Maintaining that low-cost balance between credits, coins and progress gets more difficult as you reach higher brackets, but for the time being I find it harder to run out of match credits than anything else.
Once purchased, you can use FIFA Points to buy Ultimate Team packs in the in-game Shop to improve your performance and customize your game experience. You can also use FIFA Points to buy League Teams match credits and retries to progress faster and avoid relegation. Most in-game items are also available for purchase with coins (i.e. currency earned through gameplay)!
Gameplay Features
Complete Dribbling
We improved our Face Up Dribble to be more authentic and useful, giving you a better feel when taking on your opponent one-on-one. We also added the Precision 2.0 dribble to keep the ball close to your feet when you attack.
Attacking Intelligence
Your teammates will now make smarter attacking runs to give you better passing options. In addition, your attacking players have improved offside awareness, they will stutter step or curve their runs to stay onside.
First Touch Control
A new system eliminates near-perfect control for every player by creating uncertainty when receiving difficult balls. Poor passes are harder to control, enabling defenders to capitalize on errant balls and poor touches. Variables such as defensive pressure, trajectory of the ball, and velocity of the pass all factor into a player’s success.
