Aura Kingdom does not present the common stats
Aura Kingdom, is an Anime MMORPG set in the wildly alive world of Azuria. In Azuria the power of Gaia remains ever-present. In times of crisis, this power awakens spiritual gifts in certain individuals. Those people become Envoys of Gaia, and their actions will shape the fate of the world. When the power awakens within the Envoy, a spirit of the Aura Kingdom is drawn to them. Outside of combat these summoned spirits are more than lifeless drones. The Eidolons retain memories of players’ past accomplishments including boss kills, and will converse with the player about these experiences. As players journey forward they will have the opportunity to recruit additional Eidolons to join them.
The tutorial area of the game is small, but you know what? It’s pretty darn gorgeous. I would dare say they’re trying to imitate the stylistic imagery of Guild Wars 2, only in anime form. The areas of the game didn’t seem like large insignificant sandboxes for you to level up in. In fact, many of them are small, and while they do have creatures to grind for exp, the reasoning behind the quests is actually pretty logical. For example, rushing out to kill a set of creatures to clear the way for the lumberjacks, or getting a certain enzyme for a medical experiment. These are much better and sometimes more amusing than your standard fetch quests. In fact, one quest actually led me to beat a group of sleeping lumberjacks with a hammer simply because they were asleep on the job. Of course there was a legitimate reason to be discovered later, but you know what? It was still funny.
As is typical in many games, there are female non-player characters whose anatomy and costumes are governed by jiggle physics, but I was actually a bit surprised at how few there were. They did, however, make the few with jello in their shirts almost distractingly blatant. Fortunately, the vast majority of the game avoids that trope, and I was pleased to see that the rest of the female body shapes were reasonable for the genre and the audience. In fact, another downside to the graphics of the game is that the vast majority of NPCs seems to have used the same dozen or so character models, simply with different attire or even just a recoloring of the same outfit. After awhile, I started thinking I lived on a planet of clones.
Right from the start you will see that Aura Kingdom comes with a rather immersive experience. After the short introduction, you will be awake in a small town where you need to perform simple quests. I found these quests to be rather repetitive in the beginning, as they usually require you to either fetch items or do stuff such as rapid deliveries. As the game fleshes out and you get more regions to explore though, the quests become more varied, which is a good thing. Aura Kingdom also comes with an interesting automatic path system that is seamlessly created to enrich your experience if you are a beginner. You do have the possibility to jump even during combat, which is a plus, but you can even use special attacks at the same time.
Experience fast-paced action, epic combo attacks, and powerful magical spells in Aura Kingdom, a hack and slash MMORPG from Aeria Games. Journey to Azuria, a world on the brink of war between the forces of light and dark. Choose from 12 different character classes and join the fight as an Envoy of Gaia to defend the realm against powerful forces that seek to destroy it. Summon powerful spirit companions, called Eidolons, to aid you in your quest to defeat the dark knight Reindhart and his army of demons.
Aura Kingdom does not present the common stats, but attack and defence points instead. Attacks points can be used to improve the character’s attack to inflict a larger amount of damage, the chance to land a critical hit, and the attack speed. Defence points can be employed to increase health, health regeneration and the chance to avoid an attack, as well as to reduce the amount of damage received. Aura Kingdom also has Eidolons: magical pets that help you in battle. There are four different pets to choose from early in the game - the sprite Serif, the sylph Merrilee, the young dragon Grimm, and the unicorn Alessa. You will be able to unlock other Eidolons in the future through playing the game and by purchasing them via the Item Mall. The Eidolons are a significant part of the story, and Grimm practically saved my full support bard from being mobbed by providing the much-needed damage that full supports don’t usually have.
